Designing spatial narratives from concept to execution
Architectural Design
1. Problem Definition and Initial Studies
In this stage, the project is comprehensively analyzed from multiple perspectives, including site conditions, climate, urban context, regulations, functional program, technical constraints, and client requirements. These factors are studied simultaneously to form an accurate understanding of the project’s opportunities and limitations. The outcome of this phase is the definition of a conceptual framework that serves as the basis for all subsequent design decisions and establishes the overall direction of the project.
2. Spatial Organization and Schematic Design (Phase One)
In this phase, the initial concept is developed into a coherent spatial structure. Functional relationships between spaces, spatial hierarchy, circulation patterns, access strategies, and program distribution within the site are defined. Contextual conditions and environmental characteristics are also integrated into decision-making to ensure that the resulting spatial structure is properly adapted to the project’s real-world setting.
3. Design Development and Technical Coordination
At this stage, the design evolves from general concepts into detailed architectural and technical solutions. Coordination between structural systems, materials, construction details, and functional requirements is carefully reviewed and refined. Environmental constraints, regulations, and site-specific conditions are also considered to ensure that the design is fully constructible, technically coherent, and aligned with real-world implementation requirements.
4. Documentation and Design Presentation
In this phase, the design output is translated into a comprehensive set of visual and technical documents, including drawings, renderings, diagrams, and presentation sheets. The purpose is to clearly communicate design logic, spatial quality, and functional relationships to the client and stakeholders. This stage plays a critical role in enabling informed decision-making and ensuring transparency throughout the design process.
